The Thrive Games logo was designed to capture a bold vision: not just surviving in the gaming world, but thriving — growing, innovating, and restoring what once made games magical. The name itself signals a departure from the ordinary, aiming to rekindle the creativity and passion that defined the golden age of the console era.
Where many studios chase trends, Thrive stands for something deeper: the potential of a single pixel, the idea that each block — like in our favorite 8- and 16-bit titles — can be a doorway to infinite possibilities. This metaphor grounds our logo in both nostalgia and progress.

The visual identity walks a deliberate line between classic and contemporary. It’s warm, youthful, and fresh, appealing to players who grew up in the 80s and 90s, while staying professional and accessible enough to invite new audiences in. It feels spontaneous yet structured, unique but familiar — a balancing act that reflects our mission: to bring the best parts of retro gaming into the present, without the limitations of the past.

Thrive Games began as a startup I co-founded with three close friends who shared the same passion for nostalgic, story-driven games. What started as a side project quickly gained momentum after we successfully funded our flagship title, Dragon of Legends, through Kickstarter. With that early support, we were able to match our crowdfunding efforts with Canadian government grants, which allowed us to scale up our vision. We hired a full-time team of developers and artists — many of whom were graduates from Sheridan College’s renowned animation and game design programs — and brought our world to life with a level of care and craftsmanship rooted in our love for the golden era of gaming.
